OUR FEES FOR IMMIGRATION SERVICES

The quality of our work at Millan Solicitors is repeatedly demonstrated by the very high success rates achieved in cases that we take on. We strive to make our services as accessible as possible to everyone. We consistently strive to provide high levels of legal advice and service to all those in desperate need of good quality Immigration advice.

We appreciate that worry about costs can be the biggest barrier to getting professional legal help. Please don’t let it stop you. We offer fixed fees designed to make immigration advice accessible and affordable and to give you peace of mind that you will know from the outset the total costs payable to us.

The services our firm provide are listed below:

Application for leave to remain

Indefinite leave to remain(settlement)

Visit visas (tourism or visiting friends and family)

Student visas

Spouse and partner’s applications, including fiancée’s or proposed civil partners Dependent relative and family reunion

Application for naturalisation or registration under the British Nationality Act 1981

Application on behalf of EEA nationals and their family members under the applicable EEA Regulations or Immigration rules for example application for EEA pre settlement status or settlement status

Other categories such as application on the basis of long residence

WHO WILL CARRY OUT THE WORK?

Goldie Millan has more than 20 years’ experience in this work. She is a Solicitor with a Master’s degree in Law from Cambridge University. Goldie has helped thousands of families and individuals with her expertise in this area. She qualified as a solicitor in 1995. Goldie handles every single immigration case so you can be assured that you will be in safe hands.

We charge a fixed fee which will be agreed with you from the start. Our basis used to charge these fees is that Goldie Millan will carry out the work and as a senior Solicitor she is able to carry out the work in a shorter timescale than less experienced Solicitors. Thus, we are able to keep our fees low. At present we do not charge VAT for our services, we will ensure to advise you in case our VAT status changes.

All our fixed fees include the following unless stated otherwise:

  • Attending on client
  • Taking instructions
  • Advising and considering documents
  • Preparing and submitting the application with detailed legal representations
  • Providing follow up advice on timelines and the outcome of the application

The fee does not include:

  • Home Office / Visa fees and any Premium Service supplements- according to the Home office
  • Immigration Health Surcharge payments currently £400 per year per person
  • Housing Reports for Immigration purposes (usually £100-£200)
  • Court fees (cost varies according to HMCTS)
  • Barrister fees (usually £500-£750 plus VAT)
  • Expert report fees (cost varies according to expert instructed)
  • Cost of interpreters if required (cost varies according to language required)
  • Translations (cost varies depending on number of words)
  • DNA tests where appropriate (usually £300-£500 depending on company used)
  • Any other costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties

A supplement of £250 (no VAT payable) may apply for each additional dependant / multiple applicants.

If the case is of particular complexity, we reserve the right to charge an additional supplement, but this will be agreed with you from the onset or as soon as the complexity occurs/becomes known to us.

Application for leave to remain

Our Total Fixed fee: £450.00 (no VAT payable)

The work will involve:

  • Discussing your circumstances in detail and confirming whether this is the most appropriate application for you to make and what other options may be available to you.
  • Giving you advice about the requirements of the Immigration Rules and whether you meet the criteria.
  • If you do not fulfil certain criteria, whether this can be overcome and how.
  • Considering the supporting evidence, you have provided.
  • Where necessary, helping you obtain further evidence (such as medical records and bank statements)
  • Preparing your application and submitting it online on your behalf.
  • Arranging your biometrics appointment online.
  • Giving you advice about the outcome of the application and any further steps you need to take.

Disbursements (not included in costs set out above):

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as visa fees. You are responsible for payments to the Home Office for visa fees (currently £1330) and payments for Biometric appointments. You are able to pay the disbursements on your bank card to ensure a smoother process.

How long will my application take?

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application, but our experience shows that they take up to six months to make a decision.

We will normally be able to submit this type of application within 10 working days of you providing all the information we need, but we will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this.

Indefinite leave to remain

Visit visas (tourism or visiting friends and family):

Our Total Fixed fee: Sponsorship letter £100.00 (no VAT payable)

Online visitor application £350.00 (no VAT payable)

If you are coming to the UK as a visitor, you are allowed to stay here for up to 6 months in most cases. Visit Visa rules are complicated. It is important to know there is no right of appeal if your visitor visa is refused. If the application is refused, then depending on the reasons of the refusal it might affect future applications. Early legal advice is therefore crucial.

Student visas

Our Total Fixed fee: £700 (no VAT payable)

will take detailed instructions from you and advise you about the relevant immigration law and procedure to be adopted by the Home Office, UKBA in your application for entry clearance as a Tier 4 General Student. We will consider the contents of the documentary evidence to be submitted in support of the Tier 4 (General) Student application and discuss the same with you.

We will complete the online application form and advise and guide you through the application process.

Spouse and partner’s applications, including fiancée’s or proposed civil partners and dependent relatives and family reunion

Our Total Fixed fee: £700.00 (no VAT payable).

Our fess include consultation with you, taking instruction, considering documents, advising on merits, completing the online application, booking an appointment at the visa centre and preparing the sponsorship statement. The cost quoted does not include arranging the English language test or TB test. The cost quoted does not include the home office fees or any visa fees and where the home office refuses the application, advice and assistance in relation to any appeal.

Application of naturalisation or registration under the British Nationality Act 1981

Our Total Fixed fee: £400.00 for naturalisation

Our Total Fixed fee: £350.00 for registration of minors

Our fees include consultations, taking instruction, taking documents and advising on your application, assessing your documents. The fixed fee quoted does not include where the home office refuse your application, advice and assistance in relation to any administrative review. The fixed fee does not include the home office fee which is subject to change according to the home office.

Application on behalf of EEA nationals and their family members under the applicable EEA Regulations or Immigration rules for example application for EEA pre settlement status or settlement status

Our Total Fixed fee: £350.00 (no VAT payable)

Our fixed fee includes taking instructions, taking documents and advising on your application, assessing your documents and completing the online application and uploading your documents. The fixed fee quoted does not include where the home office refuse your application, advice and assistance in relation to any further steps. Currently there is no home office application fee which is subject to change according to the home office.

WHAT WORK DOES THIS COVER?

The fee set out above covers all of the work required to pursue your instructed matter. Such work includes (but is not limited to):

  • Taking your initial instructions.
  • Considering and reviewing your documents and advising you in writing of your prospects of success and likely award.
  • Telephone calls between us
  • Telephone calls between us and third parties’
  • All correspondence via email and letter between us and Client
  • All correspondence via email and letter between us and third parties’
  • All drafting and case preparation.

The total fixed fees quoted here do not include:

  • Any Home Office fees for making the application. You will pay this to the Home Office directly as part of the application process.
  • Where the Home Office refuse your application, advice and assistance in relation to any appeal

TIMESCALES: We will always endeavour to update you as your application / case progresses. The duration of immigration applications varies and is dependent on the Home Office unless you opt for the priority service.

FUNDING: All work is undertaken on private basis and to the Fixed Fees quoted. We honestly offer the best service at the lowest fees. We do not conduct any Legal Aid work or deal with Asylum applications. You are advised to consult the Law Society’s website for a Legal Aid provider.
